ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE PLANT

What is Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)?

Zero Liquid Discharge Plant Manufacturer in Maharashtra (ZLD) is a sustainable wastewater management approach that eliminates liquid waste discharge into the environment. It ensures that all wastewater is either reused or converted into solid waste, contributing to environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.

After the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) process, membrane separation is applied, followed by ZLD treatment for complete liquid waste management.

Key Benefits of Zero Liquid Discharge

Complete Wastewater Reuse
Minimization of Liquid Waste
Resource Recovery

Various technologies are included in the ZLD plant

Thermal Vapour Recompression
Mechanical Evaporation

In Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, mechanical evaporators play a crucial role in treating and recycling wastewater. ZLD aims to ensure that no liquid waste is discharged from a facility, effectively minimizing environmental impact by recovering and reusing water from industrial processes.

Mechanical evaporators are used to concentrate wastewater by removing a significant portion of the water content, turning it into vapour.

Mechanical evaporators can achieve high levels of water recovery and concentration, making them ideal for ZLD applications.

Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD)

A promising alternative to conductive drying technologies, the Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) obtains the energy for evaporation by indirectly contacting the product with hot air/steam and making a thin film.
The material to be dried is placed in a vertical chamber with a high-speed rotor. The rotor maintains the film by adhering it to the surface of the walls to have an efficient heat transfer rate. The liquid material slowly changes its form due to high heat transfer rates, eventually forming a dry powder. Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) can be operated under high vacuum due to its unique technology.

ATFD Features

High heat transfer rate with shorter drying time.
Wide range of operating pressures, from vacuum to atmospheric.
Presence of self-cleaning heating surfaces with minimum maintenance.
Constant renewal of layer/film near the wall to reduce fouling.
Full recovery of the solvents with inert process conditions.
